About Jim
As
your coach, I am dedicated to fully supporting you in
identifying what you want the most for yourself, and
together we find the way toward achieving your vision and
goals. Working in a coaching relationship with me is
like talking to your most trusted partner or friend. I
am committed to being totally honest with you about what
I hear and feel - but in a way that supports and
empowers you to be who you are and to achieve what it is you
most want for yourself.
Being committed as I am to my own personal growth
influences our coaching relationship. It is through
growth and awareness that the right choices are
made leading to greater life satisfaction. So your
personal growth is extremely important to me.
My
mission in life is to support you in your journey toward
peace, joy, fulfillment and happiness be it in your work
or career, personal life, relationship to family and
friends, physical and mental health, and spiritual
matters. Many of these issues, of course, interconnect
with each other.
My
coaching practice focuses in the areas of
career
management
which includes executive coaching, career transitions,
outplacement services, job search techniques and
strategies,
small
business success, leading to success in new
and established businesses and
retirement
planning -
for those either contemplating
retirement at some point in the future or already
retired. My clients in these areas are highly
motivated individuals who think positively about their
lives and future, are willing to accept the risks that
go hand in hand with personal growth and change, are passionate
about life, and are generally successful in what they
do.
I
have considerable professional experience working many
years for corporations such as AT&T and Telcordia
Technologies. Prior to starting my own coaching
business, Ideal Horizons Coaching, I was a director in
the North American Numbering Plan Administration, an
agency responsible for coordinating the nation’s
telephone numbering system. I hold a BS degree in
Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh
and an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York
University. My coaching training was obtained at Coach
U, a leading coaching school certified by the
International Coach Federation (ICF). I am a member of
ICF and the New Jersey Professional Coaches Association
where I serve on the Board of Directors.
I am
married and have two grown children and reside with my
wife, Sally, in Morristown, New Jersey. I enjoy skiing
and have been a private pilot for many years, enjoying
the freedom and challenge that both of these activities
provide. During most evenings you can usually find me
curled up with a book. The most recent book I’ve read
is Eckhart Tolle’s incredibly powerful book, The Power
of Now.
I am
an accomplished public speaker, a member of Toastmasters
International and recently achieved the level of
Competent Toastmaster (CTM). I’m available
to speak on a variety of topics
at private, corporate and other events. I also conduct
workshops on topics such as retirement planning,
goalsetting, time management, and the like. Click

types of workshops that I offer.
Each
of us is on our own unique path. I support you in finding
your
path and partnering in creating a way along it to
what it is you really want – in seeking your own vision
and expressing yourself with your own voice. I offer a
complimentary 30-60 minute coaching session by phone to
give you an idea of what coaching will be like with
me. Contact Jim
to set up a session at a mutually convenient time to get
together.
Lastly,
if you are just curious about coaching, or have
questions that have not been answered, please give me a
call at 973-539-8331. If I don't have the answer,
I'll be happy to refer you to someone who does.
